We learned that standard delivering for Japanese manufacturers, who check everything. We apply the same standard now, wherever the client is.

Kathmandu builds. Hamamatsu answers.

The engineering team is in Kathmandu — design, development, QA and support all sit in one room, so a question about the build does not travel between companies to get answered. The Hamamatsu office is the client-facing side in Japan: Manish Ghimire, our Country Manager, is based there, and meetings in Japan happen in Japanese, in Japanese business hours, with someone in the country.

Between the two sits a full-time Language Coordinator. That is a permanent role here, not a favour someone does between tasks — because the failure mode of offshore delivery is not bad code, it is a requirement that meant two different things in two languages and nobody noticed until acceptance.

Kathmandu is UTC+5:45 and Hamamatsu is UTC+9. The working days overlap almost entirely, so a decision made in Japan in the morning is being acted on the same day.
